The event brought together key agricultural stakeholders, government representatives, technical experts from institutions and government agencies, agricultural development communities, farmer cooperatives among others who joined physically and virtually, to present and validate Sentinel X™️: the world's first commercially deployed, non-chemical, photonic information-based crop protection and plant nutrition system.
The workshop attended by the representative of the executive governor of Kaduna State, Hon. Murtala Mohammed Dabo, the state commissioner for agriculture, ADPs, programme managers, farmer associations, the farm managers and farmers across states, partner organizations, agencies of the government, farmer cooperatives, and agricultural stakeholders marks the formal introduction of Sentinel X™️ into Nigeria’s agricultural mainstream.
This follows the technology’s recorded success across demonstration pilots performed across zones in Kaduna, which delivered near-zero Fall Armyworms and measurably improved crop yield outcomes on enrolled farms.
The Northwest Zone validation Workshop themed “Enhancing Food Safety and Consumer Health in Nigeria: Sentinel X™️ as the Innovative Solution for Agrochemical Detoxification in Agricultural Produce” was declared open by Mal. Muhammad Rili, the General Manager, Kaduna Agricultural Development Agency, KADA. In his opening remarks, Mal. Muhammad Rili welcomed all the participants and emphasized the critical need to embrace sustainable agricultural innovations that enhances productivity and protect human health and environment, in line with Governor Senator Uba Sani’s agricultural transformation agenda. He commended the collaboration between KADA and NISSCORP and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen food security and advanced transformation in Kaduna State.
Delivering the good will message, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Malam Murtala Dabo, reiterated the state government’s commitment to promote innovation, food security and climate-smart agricultural practices. The Commissioner encouraged stakeholders to continue exploring practical approaches that strengthen the agricultural value chain and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
Speaking on the purpose of the event, Mal. Muhammad Rili, the General Manager of KADA stated that the North-West validation exercise was designed to gather stakeholders feedback and provide an evidence-based platform for determining the suitability of Sentinel X™️ for commercial deployment. He expressed appreciation to the executive governor of Kaduna, his excellency, Gov. Sen. Uba Sani and the state commissioner of agriculture, Murtala Mohammed Dabo for their vision and their steadfast commitment to the future of greener and organic agriculture in Kaduna state.
In his presentation, the country manager for NISSCORP, Igo Ogbu encourages the farmers to embrace Sentinel X™️ as it is way affordable, safer and better alternative to the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. In his words, ‘Sentinel X™️ subscription covers the entire farming cycle instead of spraying three to four times per season as farmers usually do.’ He noted the fee is a fraction of the amount farmers spend on purchasing chemicals.
Following the successful North-West Sentinel X™️ validation exercise, stakeholders, including representative of the Kaduna state governor, Mallam Murtala Mohammed Dabo, the state commissioner for agriculture, General Managers from Kano, Zamfara and Plateau States, famers associations, agricultural experts, extension officers, development partners, research and regulatory agencies, and farming communities, acknowledged Sentinel X™️ as a sustainable, non-chemical alternative to the conventional chemical pesticides for crop protection and nutrition and its potential to promote human and soil health, enhance food quality and security, improve farmer welfare, and support environmental sustainability.
From the technical presentations during the workshop, the firsthand user testimonials of the pilot results which delivered near-zero Fall Armyworms infestation and an improved crop yield, an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants engaged with experts on the operational framework, expected outcomes, scalability, commercial viability, and long-term sustainability of the solution, participants expressed confidence in Sentinel X™️ to transform agricultural production systems in Nigeria and collectively endorsed further validation and broader deployment of the technology across Northwestern Nigeria
Delivering the closing remarks, Mal. Muhammad Rili emphasized the need for the continued validation of Sentinel X™️ across other regions of the country, stronger stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning to support its nationwide commercial adoption. He noted that scaling innovative agricultural solutions such as Sentinel X™️ could make a significant contribution to improved food safety, better consumer health, and sustainable agricultural development in Kaduna State, the North-West region, and Nigeria as a whole.
The validation workshop concluded with resolution among the stakeholders to continue to collaborate in advancing innovative agricultural technologies that enhance food security, improve consumer health, reduce dependence on agrochemicals, and promote environmentally sustainable farming systems.
There was a renewed commitment among stakeholders to support the evaluation, awareness, and commercialization efforts necessary to integrate Sentinel X™️ into Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.
